Being out here in NY and riding the subway ALL THE TIME, It is very easy to see that e-readers are everywhere, and the eBook market is booming. Everyone and their Nan seem to have some sort of device. There is poverty and lack of resources in some parts of this city, but as has always been the case, reading is the truly accessible activity that enriches daily life. It is great to see the poetry posters on some of the lines, lovely having something to read if you have forgot your reader.

The same cannot be said for the Tube in London though; in my experience it is taking a bit longer to shake the hard copies out of the clutches of readers in favor of e-readers. Of course, the important thing is that people continue to disappear into a book, regardless of whether it is paper, e-ink or shiny tablet version.
